Goat Age Calculator
Age decides more than sentiment: it sets the market band, the Qurbani eligibility and the price per kilogram a buyer will accept. Enter a date of birth and get all three at once.
Recording birth dates
- Write the date on an ear tag or a shed board the day the kid is born.
- Record the dam's tag at the same time — it saves guesswork later.
- Photograph the entry; paper records get wet and lost.
- Enter it into the farm dashboard within the week.
Cross-check with teeth
The incisor pattern is evidence against a stated date of birth. Match what you see against these bands before you pay a premium for age.
- All milk teeth — under 12 months
- Two permanent — 12 to 18 months
- Four permanent — 18 to 24 months
- Six permanent — 30 to 36 months
- Full mouth (eight) — 42 to 48 months

Common questions
Before you rely on it
The seller does not know the date of birth. What then?
Use the age-by-teeth guide instead. The incisor pattern gives a reliable range: two permanent teeth means roughly 12 to 18 months, four means 18 to 24, and so on.
Is 12 months exact for Qurbani?
For a goat or sheep, one full lunar year is the requirement. Because the lunar year is about 11 days shorter, an animal born on 20 June 2025 completes its lunar year around 9 June 2026. This tool accounts for that.
Why does the tool ask for a reference date?
So you can check age on a future date — usually Eid — rather than only today. That is what matters when you are buying stock months in advance.
