Transport Cost Calculator
Transport is the cost buyers forget until the animal is bought. Distance, vehicle size and whether you need crates and an attendant change the figure by a factor of three — and a badly planned journey costs weight as well as money.
Before the truck arrives
- Withhold concentrate for six hours; keep water available.
- Photograph every animal at loading with the tag visible.
- Agree the price, waiting charges and arrival window in writing.
- Send the driver a location pin, not just an address.
Bahawalpur → Lahore · Via N-5 through Multan and Sahiwal
Journey time assumes a night departure with one 20-minute stop. Add 90 minutes in Qurbani week.

Pick two cities, or enter the kilometres yourself if the pair is not listed.
Load and vehicle
Capacity decides how many trips you need; diesel and km/litre decide fuel.
Extras
Optional costs that riders forget until the truck is loaded.

Mazda fits this load
One trip carries all 14 animals. Expect roughly 7h 0m on the road; night travel in summer cuts heat stress and shrink.

Add transport to the profit model
Transport at both ends is typically 2% of the cost of a fattening cycle — small, but it is the line most often left out.
Buy closer to home
Filter the marketplace by distance to see whether a nearby animal at a slightly higher price actually works out cheaper.
Welfare
Moving animals without losing weight
A goat can lose 3 to 5% of its live weight on a long journey, most of it in the first six hours. On a 50 kg animal that is more than two kilograms — worth roughly PKR 4,000 at current rates, which is often more than the transport itself.
Travel at night in summer
Between May and September, load after sunset. Daytime heat in a covered deck is the biggest cause of loss.
Do not overload
Animals need to stand without pressing. Overloading causes injuries and the whole load arrives stressed.
Water before and after, not during
Offer water immediately before loading and again on arrival. Stopping to water mid-journey adds stress.
Rest on arrival
Give 24 hours of quiet with hay and water before weighing, selling or slaughtering.
Common questions
Before you rely on it
Who pays for transport, buyer or seller?
By default the buyer. Many sellers offer free delivery within their own city and share the cost beyond it — it is worth asking, because it is usually negotiable.
Are these prices fixed?
They are estimates from completed bookings on the platform over the past 60 days. Diesel price and Qurbani season both move them; the final quote comes from the transporter.
What happens if an animal is injured in transit?
Verified transporters on Goat Mart carry cover for injury and death in transit. Photograph the animals at loading — that is what a claim rests on.
