Step 1
Coordinating delivery through listings and chat
After a buyer and seller agree on price, payment method and delivery terms, the next step is coordinating the actual handover or delivery of the animal. Goat Mart provides listing pages, in-app chat, WhatsApp contact sharing, phone numbers and email so both parties can communicate logistics. All delivery arrangements — transport method, timing, delivery address, cost — are negotiated and agreed directly between the buyer and the seller. Goat Mart does not arrange, manage, supervise or guarantee any delivery.
Keep all logistics discussions documented in writing — whether through the Goat Mart in-app chat, WhatsApp messages, SMS or email. If anything material changes after you agree terms — new arrival day, different transporter, amended address — confirm the change in writing so both parties have a clear record. This habit matters most for higher-value Qurbani purchases, where a single scattered verbal agreement is far harder to prove later than one continuous written conversation.
- 1Agree delivery method, timing and cost in writing via chat, WhatsApp or email.
- 2Confirm the receiving address and contact person for handover.
- 3Share transport details: who is driving, estimated arrival, and any stops.
- 4Screenshot the agreed terms and delivery plan for your records.
- 5Keep the chat thread active for logistics updates during transit.

Step 2
Delivery options: seller transport, buyer collection, or third-party transporter
Buyers and sellers typically arrange delivery in one of three ways: the seller delivers using their own transport, the buyer visits the farm or mandi to collect in person, or both parties hire a third-party livestock transporter. Whichever method you choose, agree the cost, timing, and responsibility for the animal during transit in writing before the journey begins. The delivery cost should be clear and documented before any money changes hands.
For long-distance routes — common between Punjab farms and Karachi buyers, or between Sindh mandis and northern districts — ask how watering, rest stops and overnight holding are handled. In monsoon weeks, ask about road delays. In summer heat, insist on morning or evening travel windows. Capture all answers in your written record via chat, WhatsApp or phone messages.
- 1Choose a delivery method: seller transport, buyer collection, or third-party transporter.
- 2Agree and document the delivery cost before the journey starts.
- 3Clarify who is responsible for the animal's welfare during transit.
- 4Ask about watering, rest stops and overnight plans for long journeys.
- 5Get the transporter's contact details and share them with the receiving person.
Step 3
Communication during transit
Once the animal is in transit, both parties should stay in contact. Share departure time, expected arrival time and any delays through chat, WhatsApp, phone or email. If the buyer has number masking preferences, the Goat Mart chat provides a channel that does not expose personal phone numbers. However, buyers and sellers are also free to use WhatsApp, direct phone calls or any other communication method they prefer.
If the seller or transporter goes silent during transit, send a polite follow-up message. If silence continues beyond the agreed arrival window, document the timeline with screenshots and prepare to take further action. Under the Pakistan Penal Code 1860, taking payment for goods and then failing to deliver constitutes cheating (Section 420) and is punishable with imprisonment and fine.
- 1Share departure confirmation via chat, WhatsApp or phone.
- 2Provide progress updates during the journey — especially for long routes.
- 3If delays occur, communicate the reason and updated arrival time in writing.
- 4If the seller or transporter goes silent, document the timeline with screenshots.
- 5Keep the receiving person's phone charged and available for arrival coordination.
Step 4
Receiving and inspecting the animal on arrival
When the animal arrives, inspect it carefully before making any final acceptance. Compare the animal against the listing: check breed, approximate age by teeth, body condition, weight (by tape or scale), health signs and any identifying marks mentioned in the listing photos. Photograph the animal from multiple angles with a timestamp. Have the listing open on your phone so you can compare side by side.
If the animal matches the listing and your agreed terms, proceed with your transaction. If there is a clear mismatch — different animal, wrong breed, significantly different weight, concealed illness or injury — do not accept. Document the mismatch with photographs and written notes, and contact the seller immediately via chat, WhatsApp or phone. Under the Contract Act 1872 of Pakistan, delivery of goods materially different from the agreed description constitutes breach of contract.
- 1Open the listing on your phone and compare the animal side by side.
- 2Check breed, age (teeth), weight, condition and identifying marks.
- 3Photograph the animal from multiple angles with a timestamp.
- 4If the animal matches, proceed with your agreed transaction terms.
- 5If there is a mismatch, do NOT accept — document with photos and contact the seller.
- 6Keep all evidence: chat records, listing screenshots, arrival photographs.

Step 5
If something goes wrong: dispute resolution
If the animal does not match the listing, if delivery never happens, or if the seller becomes unresponsive, you have several avenues. First, attempt direct resolution with the seller using your documented chat records, payment receipts and photographs. Most disputes in livestock trade arise from miscommunication rather than deliberate fraud and can be resolved through honest conversation between the parties.
If direct resolution fails: (1) Report the seller on Goat Mart — the platform can remove listings, revoke verification badges and permanently suspend accounts to protect future buyers. (2) For payment recovery, file a civil case under the Contract Act 1872 at the relevant civil court. (3) For fraud — such as taking payment and not delivering, or deliberately substituting a different animal — file a First Information Report (FIR) at your local police station under Sections 415–420 of the Pakistan Penal Code 1860. (4) Lodge a consumer complaint with the relevant provincial Consumer Court under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005, Sindh Consumer Protection Act 2014, or other applicable provincial legislation.
- 1Attempt direct resolution with the seller using documented evidence.
- 2Report the user on Goat Mart for platform-level action (listing removal, account suspension).
- 3For payment recovery, pursue civil proceedings under the Contract Act 1872.
- 4For fraud, file an FIR at your local police station under PPC Sections 415–420.
- 5For consumer complaints, approach the relevant provincial Consumer Court.
- 6Keep all evidence for at least 90 days — or longer if legal proceedings are anticipated.
