If a Pakistani farmer describes a goat without naming the breed, they are usually picturing a Beetal. Tall, roman-nosed and long-eared, it does two jobs competently — reasonable milk and good meat — which is exactly why it outsells every other breed on the platform. It is the safe first goat and the reliable commercial goat, in that order.

Show & breedingSindh's dairy aristocrat
Kamori is the breed people photograph. Ears that reach the ground, a dished elegant head and a coat marked like polished wood — and behind the looks, genuinely the best milk yield of any common Pakistani goat. Two markets buy Kamori for entirely different reasons, which is why the price range is so wide: dairy farmers want litres, show buyers want ears.

Teddy
MeatSmall, fast, and made for volume
Teddy is the commercial workhorse of Pothohar: a small, prolific, quick-maturing goat that reaches sale weight in months rather than years. Nobody buys a Teddy for show. They buy it because two Teddies can be finished in the space and feed one large goat needs, and because it sells within a week.
